The Moroccan Bath, also known as hammam, is a traditional cleansing ritual that is immensely popular in the Middle East as a purifying treatment for the whole body.

Apart from cleansing the skin and removing impurities and dirt, it also helps release pain and accumulated tension in the muscles by boosting blood circulation across veins and joints.

The secret of this unique treatment lies in its bath technique – which is a fine blend of a massage & bathing process. Moroccan bath uses a vital product in its massage – known as Rhassoul, organic cosmetic clay found under the Atlas Mountains in Morocco.

Rhassoul clay is enriched with natural minerals like Magnesium, Iron, Calcium, Potassium and Sodium – all of which come with specific properties that are beneficial for the human body. The clay is generally manufactured into a bar of soap, or is used as a peeling and massage balm. It has revamping, cleansing, healing and appeasing effects.

How is this body treatment carried out?

As the treatment starts, your body is first rinsed for mild cleansing. Once the body is cleansed, it is covered with the Moroccan soap – made of Rhassoul clay. You are then made to sit in a steam room where the body is massaged in a specific technique that helps further exfoliate dead skin cells.

The scrubbing is done vigorously so that the dead skin gets exfoliated properly. Post the scrubbing, a body masque is applied which is left on your skin for nearly 15 minutes. This masque allows the dirt and impurities underlying the skin to rise to the surface. You are again made to sit in the steam room where the masque is cleansed off.

With the dead skin cells removed & pores opened up – your body experiences smooth circulation of fluids and oxygen which help ease body stress, dullness and leaves behind radiant, glowing skin.
